Killswitch Engage - My Curse



These two music videos were recommended by Brendan Coffey - there are some haunting and beautiful metaphorical images in each video, although I don't know how you can listen to the music without getting a migraine (ha ha).

I especially love the image of the beetle crawling across the book page, and it even looks like the video could have been filmed in Southern Alberta coulees! Other memorable images are: the woman in a wedding dress wandering through a wheat field; removing a book from the book cabinet and seeing the coulees through the empty space; the gesture of hands coming together; and much more.

Switchfoot "We Are One Tonight"



This video is mostly memorable for its transitions between scenes - they're very clever. I'm not certain it lives up to the requirements of "art," but certainly some of the visual techniques they employ in transitions could be employed in artistic endeavours. The video production techniques are artistic, but do they coincidence with meaning? Remember...production plus metaphor = meaning = art.
